Parallel Lines

Fetish Project

My ongoing practice explores objectification and voyeuristic sexual pleasure and considers the question ‘when does sexual desire and voyeurism become too much – when do we draw the line with art?’ My research focuses on the idea of the male gaze and the pleasure gained from looking, the relationship human beings place on objects that form sexual desires and how this is linked to fetish tendencies. My work is currently exploring the idea of fetishism and how the attraction to objects feeds sexual pleasure and perversion, the idea of looking and voyeurism. The aim is to explore how someone gains sexual pleasure from something outside of the norm and to ask the question when does art stop being art and becomes perversion and pornography.

Bicurious George

Medium: Restructured Mannequin, Torso, Electrics, Lights and Handmade Leather Garments.

Mannequins are the base of many nude paintings dating back to 1461, due to their mobility which allowed them to be positioned or held in a pose for extended periods. A Agalmatophilia fetish, is the sexual attraction to a statue, mannequin or doll. It is relevant in love and fantasy and fetish encounters of emotional and physical connection for those who have difficulty in connecting with another human being.
